ARE 4D NUMBER PLATES LEGAL IN THE UK?
Yes — 4D number plates are 100% road legal in the UK, provided they comply with the
mandatory British Standard BS AU 145e. Every 4D plate we produce meets this standard, and
as a DVLA-registered supplier, we guarantee your plates are fully road legal before they leave our facility.
Important: Not all 4D plates on the market are legal. Some sellers use non-standard fonts, incorrect character dimensions, or non-reflective backing materials. Every 4D plate we produce is checked for compliance before dispatch. Never buy 4D plates without confirming the seller is DVLA registered — it’s a legal requirement.

Unlike standard flat plates, 4D number plates have their characters physically raised off the plate surface. Each letter and number is individually laser-cut from 3mm acrylic sheeting and then precision-bonded to the reflective plate face. The result is a bold, dramatic raised effect that gives your vehicle a premium, bespoke appearance while remaining completely road legal.
