5MM number plates take the raised acrylic concept to its maximum legal depth. Where 4D plates have
characters raised 3mm above the plate surface, 5MM plates use 5mm deep raised acrylic — each
letter and number standing significantly higher off the plate face for the most dramatic, eye-catching
raised effect legally available on UK roads.
The result is a plate that makes a bold statement from any distance. Particularly popular with drivers of
premium and performance vehicles — BMW M-Series, Range Rovers, Porsches — who want their plates

5mm Deep Characters
Nearly double the raised depth of 4D plates. The deepest raised lettering we offer — visible and impressive from any angle.

3mm or 5mm) does not affect compliance with BS AU 145e. What matters for legality is the font
(Charles Wright), character dimensions (79mm height), correct spacing, and the reflective backing —
